What you hear

The sound of ravin
encourages howling at the moon.
Ravenous appetites of ancient evils
plunge aside noble passions.
Dripping on stone walls
echoes to superfluous ears.
Where is that stable boy
with wielded spears.

The Day After, Good Morning Handsome

There's a song by Blake Shelton called, "Good Morning Beautiful". It's a wonderful song, but I wanted to change it to, "Good Morning Handsome." When people remember their weddings they may remember the ceremony, the crazy day, or the long awaited night. I like to remember the very morning after. I discovered for the first time just how handsome he looked so peacefully sleeping there in the morning light. Many recall the dating times when he/she was separated from his/her loved one. If you already knew that this was the one, that part got rather frustrating. You woke up, and the first person on your mind was the first person you wanted to see. You might have been one that called on the phone, or ran to his/her home to see each other. In my generation we text messaged the instant we woke up :) "Good morning handsome," and he would reply with, "Good morning beautiful." So, that morning right after the wedding was my favorite morning yet! I could finally wake up, roll over and watch him sleeping beside me. As he was quietly snoring in my ear, I kissed, hugged, and gently squeezed him, after murmuring, "good morning handsome."

Midas

Is my life always flying
towards the Midas touch?
Anna,
return now
before everything you love
is stone.
